About the Exhibit
Nature has inspired artists throughout centuries.  The Shemer is seeking original work made by artists using nature as their media, nature as their subject matter, or nature to make a statement about ecological or environment issues. Both indoor and outdoor installations are highly encouraged.

About the Juror
Aimee Leon holds an MFA in Intermedia and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University. Her practice employs natural utilitarian animal materials such as wool and beeswax, expended industrial items, and performativity to communicate in both traditional, and community-based modes of art engagement. Primarily working with sheep and wool production as both a source material and historical research base, Leon travels to isolated farm regions throughout the world investigating communities, textiles, natural food production, alternative commodity systems, and human-animal histories through work as a sheep shearer and shepherd.  The result is both a visually artistic, and analytical reference to engage the public with a historic subject that informs the trajectory of the human condition.
